Choosing a timber screen door starts with three practical questions: will it fit your opening, does its design suit the house, and what needs to be supplied separately? This guide helps you prepare those details before you order from us.

If you already know the size and style you need, browse the timber screen door range for product images and published specifications.

Start with the opening

For a replacement, record the existing door’s height, width and thickness as a starting point. Also take clear photos of the frame, hinges, latch and the space around the opening. A nominal door size alone does not establish that a replacement will fit.

Ask your installer to check the opening and fitting requirements before you commit to a size. In particular, discuss the swing direction and whether the screen door will clear the main door, its handle and any nearby obstruction. Avoid cutting or altering a door until the fitting and warranty requirements have been confirmed.

Check the listed size

Our timber screen doors are listed at 2040 × 820 × 25 mm. Treat that as the published door size, rather than a measurement of your opening. If your measurements differ, ask our team about the special sizes available on request.

When enquiring about a 2040 × 820 screen door, include the thickness as well. A matching height and width do not tell the whole story when the frame, hinges and hardware also need to work together.

Choose a pattern

The range includes Federation, Colonial, Coburg, Summer and Thornbury designs. The Thornbury example features a V-joint panel. Compare the product photos with the lines of your existing entrance door, nearby windows and any decorative timberwork.

You do not need to decide from a style name alone. Save the image of the design you prefer and send it with a photo of your entrance, back door or patio opening. This gives us a clearer starting point for discussing your choice.

What is supplied?

Our solid timber screen doors are finished in mahogany and supplied with timber beads. Screen mesh is not supplied. Factor that into your enquiry so you can confirm the mesh and fitting arrangements separately.

Before ordering, ask what hardware, mesh, finishing and installation work your particular order will require. Do not assume a product photograph means every visible component is included. Request an itemised quote that makes the scope clear.

Screen or security?

If security is a requirement, explain it explicitly when enquiring. We do not publish a security rating for this range, so it should not be treated as a certified security door. Ask our team to confirm suitability for your intended use before proceeding.

Prepare your enquiry

  • Your preferred design or a saved product image.
  • The existing door’s height, width and thickness, plus photos of the opening.
  • Whether the door is for an entrance, back door or patio.
  • Any known clearance, hinge or latch constraints.
  • Whether you need a special size and who will arrange mesh and fitting.

Once you have those details, request a timber screen door quote. You can also contact our Bayswater team or call (03) 8761 6505 to discuss the range.
